LEARNING PROGRAMME – Managing the Media

This event is in partnership with NICVA (Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action)

Date: Wednesday 14th September, 2022

Time: 10:00 – 16:00

Venue: 61 Duncairn Gardens, Belfast, BT15 2GB

As a charity or voluntary organisation, public and stakeholder awareness of your organisation and your mission is critical.  The mainstream media can influence public dialogue and confer credibility on the issues you want to highlight.  For this reason, the mainstream media is a publicity tool that you can’t ignore for your awareness campaigns.

If you would like to get the mainstream media interested in your story this is the training course for you.  In this interactive, practical training session with former BBC journalist Sarah Travers of Bespoke Communications you will:

  • Learn how to make your story newsworthy to appeal to the needs of journalists.
  • Find out how to plan your key message for a media interview
  • Experience a live TV interview in a safe environment, under the guidance of an experienced broadcasting mentor.

This course gives you a behind the scenes look at how journalists construct and interview for a story, so that you’re prepared and ready for maximum impact when the cameras turn up live on the day!

This workshop will be held in NICVA and refreshments and lunch will be provided. Places are strictly limited to 10 people on this course so please book soon if you would like to attend.
